LEGOLAND

Sunday morning we went to LEGOLAND. We only spent about 5 1/2 hours there, and we feel like we got a good taste of what was there. But you could really spend 2 days there, if you wanted to do every little thing. Plus they have an Aqaurium and a waterpark that are seperate. We skipped 2 Lands, Duplo Land and Dino Land, actually, we skipped the pirate part too, all the rides were potentially wet rides. I'm not sure I would pay full price. Thanks to my Aunt Janine, we got an amazing deal.

Anyway, I'm glad we were able to go. The kids had a good time. Some people say it really isn't for the older kids, but I disagree. Sure, they're not going to want to go there more than once, but they have some really cool things to see. Miniland USA is quite impressive. If we had more time Teresa would have spent another hour looking at all the details.

I have so many picures, I put some on Facebook, and I'll put some here as well. I'll try not to post any duplicates

This was huge

Nathan had to hop over and say Hi to Bob the Builder

The kids with the green Bionicle lego guy

Nathan wanted to ride a coaster with a drop.
You can see he was so excited.

Granny Apple Fries. They are a LEGOLAND specific thing, so we had to try them. They were...interesting. Teresa really liked them.

Panning for Gold, once they found 5 pieces they turned them in for a medalion

A Star Wars scene

San Francisco, taken from Fisherman's Warf

The beach, with a sandcastle

New Orleans

A fountain as we walked through Duplo Land

Nathan had to get his picture with the lego Darth Vader. There was another Vader made out of Lego's, we got a picture with that one too.

The kids got their very own LEGOLAND drivers licenses

Sunday Afternoon

After a crazy week and weekend(Fri and Sat) we decided to take a drive up the canyon. This was Nathan's first time. Having been a kid who got car sick, we were waiting until we were pretty sure he'd outgrown it. He did great, they both did. Nathan started feeling bad coming back down, but he did fine. We went prepared with plastic lined buckets, and I'm happy to say, they weren't used :)

ICE CREAM in Kernville. Afterall, it was national Ice cream day

To the beach!

We went to Goleta beach last Wednesday with the Hansen side. Jen and her family were here from Virginia. California was just one of their many stops. It was so good to see them. We hadn't met each others youngest. The kids had such a great time hanging out.

Krystal rode with us to the beach, her and Nathan fell asleep on Teresa - so cute!

It was a little foggy and cold, but the fog cleared up and none of the kids complained about it being cold. They were having too much fun.

I love this picture of the boys. Myrna had boogie boards for the kids to play on

Nathan is burying Diesel's feet. Diesel is the Mattson's dog
Everyone pitching in to build a sand structure. Later it was decorated with seaweed

The "sand" was more like dirt at this beach. Nathan was SO dirty. Before we left the kids gathered a huge pile of seaweed
The beach wasn't the greatest beach, but the kids didn't care. They had such a great time! It was hard to say goodbye, but I don't think we will soon forget the fun we had.

Father's Day Weekend

It was a very nice weekend.
First, we made donuts and sausage for breakfast on Saturday. They were yummy, so bad for us, but yummy.

Then we went to Ventura Beach for the day. Oh, Jonathan's gift was a new beach chair. It was super cold and windy when we first got there, but it didn't take long to warm up. As you can see we love to play in the sand. We didn't do any swimming, but we played in the water a little bit. The beach we usually go to has rip tides now :(

The kids are chasing the birds

We dug 2 deep holes and then a tunnel

Nathan colapsed the bridge with his face, mouth open. He had sand EVERYWHERE, mouth, ears, nose, luckily he closed his eyes.
The kids always want to be buried in the sand

A little fun in the water

Sunday I spent the morning baking cookies and preparing lunch to take to Tehachapi. Ty and Michelle came with us and we had lunch with John and Mary. It was really nice.

This is the kids being funny on our way home from Tehachapi

After that we headed to my folks house for dinner and visiting.

All in all a great weekend. Now on to the next event - Teresa's birthday on Wed. and Party on Sat.
