Homecoming

Last week was Homecoming week at FHS. It started with a dance last weekend. I'll have to steal a picture from Teresa or get her to post it on her blog. 4 of her friends got together and did each other's hair. Teresa wore her new high top converse with a black and silver dress.
Then during the week each day was themed - the whole theme was Disneyland, so each day was an area of the park. The only day they really got into it was Thursday - Adventureland.

Run, run as fast as you can...

...you can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man.

Nathan's teacher baked them a delicious gingerbread man on Monday, but then he ran away. It took the whole week of investigating and clues to finally find him. Here are some pictures from their last hunt.
The first clue to where he might be - frosting on the door of Mrs. Hazzard's room

He made a mess of Mrs Hazzard's room

They finally spotted him under a desk

 He was delicious!

Here is a random picture from the weekend. The kids helped me make these amazing donuts.
We had Chocolate, Orange glaze, Cinnamon, Glazed and Jelly filled with powdered sugar.

Labor Day Weekend

Saturday was a family reunion in Anaheim.. It was a lot of fun. We had good food, played games and visited. I played Bunco for the first time. Perfect game for everyone, even the little kids were able to play. Then toward the end we played volleyball with beach balls and the adults had to stay seated in their chairs.

This was the last game of volleyball with 6 balls instead of 1

We stayed that night in Anaheim. Nathan woke up way too early with a cough
so he and I went for a walk so the other two could sleep some more.
He took a few pictures on our walk. This is of the hotel

This was a Koi pond on the grounds.
They were nice grounds to walk around and explore

Sunday we headed to Seal Beach. I expected it to be way busier than it was

The weather was so nice. And as you can see there was lots of swimming.
You could walk out pretty far
We stopped at a Chinese Buffet in Santa Monica on our way home(per Nathan's request) It was very nice and quite yummy. It had the biggest selection I've seen.

Monday was spent relaxing, with some deliciuos grilled burgers to end our long weekend
