Halloween Dance at the Jr. High

Teresa's school had a Halloween dance this evening. She was so excited and had a great time.

Isn't she cute?! Nathan wanted a pic with sissy
The started with a shirt, and evolved into a witch at the last minute.

The details:
Spider ring and web nails - braids with spiders and trick-or-treat earrings
A spider on her hat

A close-up. Can you see her blue and orange bands on her braces?
And that's just the beginning of our Halloween weekend :)

Jack-o-Lanterns!

These are our Jack-o-lanterns we carved a few nights ago. The little one is mine, then Nathan's -He drew on paper what he wanted and I transferred it to a pumpkin. He chose this pumpkin himself and said he wanted it to be an angry pumpkin. The next is the pumpkin from our garden that Jonathan carved and then Teresa's cute little Jill-o-Lantern with a bow and eyelashes. She did it all herself.

It was fun, and didn't take very long. Then I roasted the pumpkin seeds - Yum! Poor Teresa can't eat them, she was so sad. She just got her full set of braces on Monday, so now she has to be more careful with what she eats. Plus, right now she's still a little sore. Getting brackets on her back teeth, mean sore cheeks.

The Pumpkin Patch

We had a fun Saturday. The guys went and played airsoft in the morning, and I took the kids to a craft fair and to Lowe's to make a bat. They are very cute, I'll get a pic after they paint them.

Later we met everyone at the pumpkin patch to do the corn maze and pick some pumpkins.

Then we invited everyone back to our house for a Halloween dinner

I don't have a title

What have you been up to this week?

Nathan finished his witch picture for a contest at grandpa's work

He also started a new gym class, he was moved up to boys level one. They do big boy things - he loves it! Last week they did the rings, this week they did the horse - I'll post some video after a few weeks, so you can see the cool stuff.

We did "M" for Monster - cute huh?! A Michael's thing

Oh and we went to story/music time with Ms. Lynn at Russo's
We have a fun weekend planned too :)
I don't have any pictures, so I'll just tell you what Teresa did this week. Her first quarter of 7th grade ended this week. She might have straight A's, she's worked hard. They've done some fun stuff. This week she had her first real essay due and a book report. I should add fitness testing at school, she talked about it a lot, not looking forward to the push-ups. And news of their first dance at school - a Halloween one. Should be fun! On Monday's Teresa watched Ayda and Evie, when she's happy. She really likes doing it. And it gives her some money to be responsible with, she pays for her own texting. We started a new paper mache projects today, but no peeking ;) Oh and both the kids costumes are done :)

Weekend getaway

The kids stayed at my parents house while Jonathan and I went away for the weekend(THANK YOU!!!!) It was perfect. We stopped in Fresno and toured the underground gardens there (the pictures are all on my photo blog).

It was pretty amazing, a great story and really cool tunnels with beautiful arches and plants. After that we headed to Bass Lake, we had a chalet for the night. Before we checked in we went on a walk along the lake, found a creek and explored. The lake is really low right now.

After we checked in and relaxed a little we decided to explore the creek again, just further up where there was supposed to be some falls. Since the water level was so low we didn't see big falls, but lots of small falls, which was so beautiful. We stayed until the sun started setting. After which we visited the little market for breakfast food and then headed to a restaurant for some clam chowder - YUM! That and a salad, it was perfect! The next morning we were able to sleep until almost 9am, the blackout curtains worked wonders ;) After check out we browsed the little shops, then headed home with a few detours to see things. We ended our wonderful weekend with a very delicious meal at Tahoe Joe's. Really, our weekend didn't end until yesterday(Monday). Jonathan had it off and we spent the day shopping and relaxing.

We love to create!

I think everyone loves to create. It's so fun and free, especially when you're a child.

Yes, we play with our food. Sometimes it just tastes better that way. So this is Nathan's Alien and Human

A robot of himself. They both have golf clubs(I don't know)
We went to Lowe's this last Saturday for one of their free woodworking crafts.
Teresa is finishing hers. Nathan has finished his, he's good with a hammer. I think he looks so cute in his apron and goggles.
