Honor Roll Banquet

Last night was Teresa's Honor Roll Banquet. It was a nice dinner at Hodel's. We are proud of her. For some kids the good grades come easy, but Teresa really has to work for them. (I was the same way, so I understand)

A few pictures from last night
It was a very serious affair - can you tell?

Isn't she beautiful!
(side note - this is the outside wall of Hodel's, it's awesome for a backdrop)

A Pre-Birthday Celebration

We had a pre-birthday celebration for Nathan on the 17th. I had been toying with the idea for a few reasons. Nathan's real birthday is smack in the middle of summer when it's VERY hot and everyone is on vacation. This was the first year he had lots of friends to invite. So I did it early, and it was perfect! No stress of another party with family looming right ahead of me. I was able to have it at the park, which allowed him to invite all 22 kids in his class. He has known since last year the theme he wanted, so we stuck with that and went forward. It turned out to be a crazy busy week, but we pulled it off. And the kids had a lot of fun!

Some alien cupcakes

My mom grilling dogs for lunch

The kids in their alien antenna

The crazy gang

The Alien pinata I made for them. Nathan designed it
Now I don't have to worry too much about his birthday - we'll have family over for cake the day before and the day of we're taking him to Magic Mountain.

Teacher Birthday

Nathan's teacher celebrated her 45th birthday last week. We couldn't let it pass without a celebration.

The class pitched in and we were able to get her a gift card to a favorite restaurant and salon. We also helped the kids make a card for her. And I made this cake, and another parent brought ice cream. It was a great celebration for a great lady!

We've been busy - Part 2

Choir Concert
Teresa had her last choir concert with Freedom Middle School and Mrs. Panelli. They did a great job, and best of all, had a great time.

The video isn't great, but it shows you how much fun they had.
These kids were hamming it up, having a great time while they sand a medley of Beetles songs.
I should mention that these kids did a flash mob during school last week of Rumor. They did it for us, and it was pretty good.

This week the Middle school put on Beauty and the Beast

We've been Busy!

I'll put this in a few posts. I'd hate to overwhelm.

Let's start with T-BALL!!!

Nathan is having fun doing t-ball again. He has a very enthusiastic coach.
This last practice, they didn't even use the T.

That same night was Nathan's Open House at school.

So proud of his caterpillar

His teacher made little butterfly pointers for the kids so they could
point to all their work around the classroom

So many fun things, and I'm proud to say
I helped the kids with most of this stuff ;)

Edible Book Fair time

Teresa and a few of her friends(Hannah, Alex and Theresa) did the edible book fair again at school. They chose to do The Lorax this year. They did a great job!. The cakes are part of a silent auction at Open House - their cake brought in $25 and won 1st place for best interpretation - which earns them a pizza party.

You can see she's wearing a Beauty and the Beast shirt - they performed "Be Our Guest" for us that night, as a teaser to the show that they will perform at the end of the month. It was cute!

We've been crazy busy the last few weeks and it's not going to get better until - well, who knows, maybe well into June. Once this play is over they'll start right into another(Willy Wonka Jr. performed July13th and  14th). Nathan starts T-ball next week  - which should be fun, but he has swim and gym still as well. Summer school will start the first week in June for Teresa. But it's okay, because once all of this calms down, we'll have about 2 weeks until we go on a really great vacation to DC/Virginia. We are super excited for that trip, so being busy will make the time fly and get us on vacation sooner ;)
