Random

Nathan now thinks it's Ho-Ho time(christmas) because there is snow. Not really, the blossoms are falling and he is convinced it means it's Ho-ho time. Everytime we see Ho-Ho lights he does the same thing. I know, you're thinking, who still has christmas lights up, but it doesn't have to be christmasy, it just has to be those very small lights. It's funny!

Jenny inspired me to try some homemade wheat bread. It looked so good and I do love it. Then I had to take the opportunity to take a picture with my new lens(yes, I'm going to call it my new lens forever). It was yummy and now it's almost gone :(

Birthday Cake!

I whipped up a cake last night for some friends of mine. We're getting together for lunch to celebrate (well, they are, I have 2 sick kids today)It's nothing fancy, but cute. It's my exaggerated version of a birthday cake. The candles were made from leftover fondant.

It's just white cake with buttercream frosting lightly flavored with lemon. I don't know how it tastes together, but the frosting was yummy!

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a great Valentines day. Jonathan brought me some lovely gifts home Friday night.

It's an edible bouquet, very delicious!

I made a fun heart pancake breakfast with strawberry syrup.

That afternoon we met Ty, Michelle, and Ian at the movies to see Bolt (a cute movie). Then we all went for frozen yogurt - Yum!

Yes, Ty is sitting at the kiddie table.

We had mini pizza's with heart shaped cheese for dinner and the kids watched Kung Fu Panda. And there's still 2 days left of the holiday weekend. I love it!

Photo Tag!

Okay, this looked fun (thanks Jen, for sharing).

Go to the place on your computer where you keep photos, open the fourth file, then choose the fourth picture to post on your blog and explain it.
I have my pictures in 2 folders, so I'm going to post 2
This is Teresa at swimming lessons in August 2003, so she was 5 years old. She's with the instructor in the middle of the picture, not a great shot, but if you click on the pic and enlarge it you might be able to see her.
This is Teresa in her ballet class when she was 4 in 2002. I actually staged several shots of her and turned them black and white, this was one of the good ones.

Happy Birthday to my Hubby

I made this cake for Jonathan's birthday today. It was really fun. I wanted a cake that didn't look like a cake. It is a yellow 8 in round cake for the bun, covered in chocolate frosting and then fondant. The hamburger patty is a brownie mix baked in an 8 in round pan. All the fixings are made of fondant. The ketchup in the dish is frosting(store bought) and the fries are just pieces of cake cut with my crinckle cut pastry cutter. Don't let the picture fool you, it's not very small

I have to say, it is my favorite so far
I decided to post an after picture to show you some perspective on the size. That's a regular sized knife sitting next to it.
