Course 2 Cake

I like it, it came out cute. The basket weave isn't nearly as hard as it looked. It does require some practice to make it look awesome, but the basics aren't hard.I don't have a lot of skill in flower arranging, but that too will come with practice.

I found a new recipe for frosting too, it isn't nearly as greasy as
the other stuff I was using. I need to play with the consistency a bit.
I added water and it was still a little too stiff.

On to course 3 :) Fondant and tiered cakes.

(so much cake, must resist! This cake is dark chocolate fudge with mint frosting, I don't know if I can resist that)

Pumpkin Painting!

We went over to Ty and Michelle's and decorated pumpkins yesterday. It was a lot of fun. We went with paint so the little boys could do their own pumpkins. All of them came out great!
Teresa is starting to paint her itty bitty one
Nathan and Ian had some very colorful, abstract pumpkins :)

Michelle has a bling pumpkin, with glitter and sequins

I made the itty bitty royalty pumpkins, Teresa's is the ladybug spider

Ty made a bomb

And Jonathan made a zombie

Carving pumpkins is fun, but painting is so much easier. I think this might be the way we do it for awhile. Teresa has a small pumpkin she wants to carve, so we may do that after school this week.

Eat Cake!

No really!

This is a cake I made for the teachers at Teresa's school.

The dots and the stars are fondant

I have my last course 2 cake class on Monday. We use all the flowers
we've been making and a basket weave to decorate the cake, in class.
We'll see how that goes, I may or may not post a picture.
And then I get to do 2 halloween cakes for Friday. I'm excited!
I think I'll do a ghost and a mummy.
A lot of practice
